The Shore is a new online poetry journal, established in 2019, dedicated to publishing bold, unexpected poems. They like poems that explore liminality and the power of language to make meaning. You can get a sense of their style by reading the journal online.
The Shore is published four times a year online: in the winter, spring, summer, and fall. Each issue contains work from around 35 poets.
They hold an open reading period for each publication. Right now through June 1st, they are seeking submissions for their sixth issue, scheduled for publication in the summer of this year. They publish both emerging and established poets.
Poets may submit three to five poems of any length in a single document. Submitting poets should wait for a response before submitting again. The Shore responds to most submissions within one month.
All submissions should include a third person bio. Submissions that don’t adhere to the submission guidelines are not considered.
The Shore accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors notify them if the submitted work is accepted elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.
