THINK Journal: Now Seeking Submissions

THINK is an established print journal housed at Western Colorado University. They focus on publishing poetry, but the journal also includes fiction, creative nonfiction, and screenwriting. THINK features poetry that demonstrates awareness of craft. They like metrical poetry, meaningful rhymes, and inventive forms. They also publish free verse that’s clearly and thoughtfully arranged. To get a sense of their style, you can read excerpts from the print journal online.

Since 2008, THINK has been published twice a year in print. In recent years, the journal has expanded to include all the genres studied in Western’s MA and MFA in Creative Writing programs. In addition to poetry, they publish popular fiction and creative nonfiction—especially nature writing—as well as writing for film and television.

They also publish essays on a wide variety of literary topics: the art and history of poetry, poetry and prose analysis, film and television, opera, and publishing.

They also accept reviews of recently published poetry collections. They ask that authors query before submitting reviews.

THINK is accepting submissions through December 31. Poets may submit up to five poems, or one long poem. Authors of prose—including stories, essays, screenplays, excerpts, articles, and reviews—may submit one piece.

THINK accepts submissions online, not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw work published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work.

If you would like to learn more or submit to THINK, please visit their website here.
