Tilde: Now Seeking Submissions

A project of Thirty West Publishing House, Tilde is a brand new print literary journal seeking fiction, non-fiction, and poetry for their first issue. Right now, they are accepting submissions through December 3. From its conception in 2015, Thirty West Publishing House has grown into a full-functioning small press. They produce handcrafted chapbooks and broadsides, and foster a community for artists by publishing a weekly guest column, ‘The Weekly Degree,’ as well as hosting a poetry reading series, ‘Thirty West Presents.’

For publication in Tilde, authors of fiction may submit one short story, 5,000 words or fewer, or up to three pieces of flash fiction, 1,000 words or fewer each. Authors of non-fiction may submit one piece, 5,000 words or fewer. Poets may submit up to three poems, totaling up to ten pages. For the first issue of Tilde, Thirty West asks that authors submit work in only one genre.

Thirty West Publishing House also accepts essay submissions for their column, ‘The Weekly Degree,’ of 800 to 1,200 words. They publish writing about a broad range of themes, such as the current state of the artistic community and the arts, as well as experiential stories about publishing and editing. They also accept book reviews, interview inquiries, and spoken word sets.

While Thirty West will consider a wide variety of work for Tilde, they will not consider work that includes excessive violence, sexual content, or prejudiced and racist ideas. If a piece is hateful or written for a niche audience, it’s probably not for Tilde.

Tilde accepts submissions online, but not via email or by post. They accept simultaneous submissions, but ask that authors note work that has been submitted elsewhere. Thirty West does not accept previously published work for Tilde; however, for other press submissions, they do accept work that has been published elsewhere, as long as the author acknowledges the publication properly. They do not accept work that appears on social media.

Enchant

Enchant

Enchant is the Romantasy focused imprint of Entwined Publishing, which we have reviewed here. For those unfamiliar with the term, Romantasy is a very popular genre currently, which is focused on a blend of Romance and Fantasy. At my local big box bookstore, Romantasy is currently dominating the fantasy genre by a large margin. They…
