wildscape. is a new online journal of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, and art. They love both whimsical and story-driven writing that evokes deep feeling: “Our goal is to blend whimsy with chaos, ethereal with truth, gentle with wild. We want to make you feel.” You can get a sense of what they like by reading the submission guidelines, where the editors have offered some additional tips.
wildscape. plans to publish four issues a year, in the winter (January), spring (April), summer (July), and fall (October). The winter and summer issues will be longer, and the spring and fall issues will be shorter. Their first issue will be available online on January 15.
Now through February 15, wildscape. is seeking submissions for their second issue, scheduled for publication in April. They will also be accepting submissions for their summer (July) issue from March 1 through May 15, and for their fall (October) issue from June 1 through August 15.
Poets mays submit up to five poems, two pages or fewer each. wildscape. tends to prefer shorter poems, one page or less, and they don’t often accept rhyming poetry. They do accept prose poetry.
Authors of fiction and creative nonfiction may submit up to two pieces, 2,000 words or fewer each. They tend to publish shorter writing, such as flash, and they prefer pieces under 1,500 words.
Authors may send one submission in each genre category, but should wait to receive a response before submitting again.
wildscape. accepts submissions online using Duosuma, and they accept email submissions if Duosuma isn’t working. They do not accept submissions by post.
They accept simultaneous submissions but ask that authors withdraw writing published elsewhere. They do not accept previously published work, but they do accept writing that has appeared on social media. They do not accept writing generated by AI.
wildscape. only accepts submissions that follow the guidelines they’ve posted online. Please read these guidelines in full before submitting.
