Expanse: Accepting Submissions

Expanse is an imprint of Entwined Publishing, which focuses on publishing Romance that falls within the Science Fiction sub genre. Entwined Publishing used to be called The Totally Entwined Group. You can learn more about Entwined Publishing here. I really encourage you to read that review also for larger context about the company.

One of the reasons I’m focusing in on Expanse, is that while Romance and Fantasy are such a common and well-established genre and are often called Romantasy, publishers open to Science Fiction Romance are much harder to find. If Romantasy is more your area of interest, Entwined does have a Romantasy-focused imprint called Enchant, which you can learn more about here.

This is what they share, in terms of details for this imprint: “Expanse ventures into sci-fi romance, exploring distant galaxies and futuristic worlds. We seek thrilling love stories set among the stars, where romance meets adventure in uncharted realms. Whether it’s a space station affair or an interstellar quest, we want narratives that defy the limits of time and space, blending love with the unknown.”

They are open to off-world settings, as well as futuristic romance stories. They also stress that they are interested in projects that are between 50,000 and 100,000 words. They are not interested in Science Fiction that does not have a strong Romance element. They are open to all heat ratings.

While a lot of the other imprints include specific active submission calls, the imprint landing page for Expanse does not. But they have recently added genres and tropes that they are particularly interested in exploring within this line, which is helpful.

All submissions must include a synopsis and the full manuscript. All submissions must be made via email. You can learn more here.
