Philosophical Idiot is an online journal for weirdos. It’s a creative playspace featuring work that’s easy to read but hard to digest. They like writing that’s odd, angsty, and/or hilarious. They don’t have rules. To get a sense of their style, you can read past issues online.
Launched in July 2017, Philosophical Idiot has published monthly issues for over two years now. The issues vary in length and number of contributors, and each edition is published as a clean, easy to navigate, minimalist webpage.
The magazine features the author’s name before the title of the work. And, they give readers an easy way to follow the author’s career by linking the author’s name to the author’s social media or other web presence.
Philosophical Idiot doesn’t require authors to adhere to any submission guidelines, and they don’t require a bio with submissions. This makes Philosophical Idiot a great place for unpublished authors to submit, since they don’t use previous publication credits to sort submissions.
Philosophical Idiot accepts submissions via email, not online or by post. They accept about 6% of the work they receive.
