The University Press of Mississippi was founded in 1970. They are currently the largest and only nonprofit publisher in the state. They are supported by Mississippi’s eight state-run universities. They publish work on a variety of subjects and are open to submissions in all nonfiction categories. They are not interested in fiction or poetry submissions. You can see the subjects they currently focus on here. They are open to nonfiction submissions in all of these categories, but are not interested to work outside of that.
They state on their website that they publish more than 95 new books every year. They also distribute work widely. Their website is clear and easy to navigate.
They have a very detailed manuscript preparation PDF which you can see here. You should follow that advice while reviewing and revising your manuscript for submission. They also communicate in that PDF that they do not fact check, which is very unusual, in my past experience with most university press guidelines.
You can access their complete submission guidelines here. They are very detailed. Please read carefully if you plan to submit.
